Originally trained in Architecture and Urbanism at the University of São Paulo, Brazil, and later expanding her practice through design and art direction studies in the UK at Central Saint Martins, the London College of Communication and Pinewood Studios, Katia has over 20 years of experience working across interior architecture, retail, residential, hospitality, commercial and creative sectors in both independent and studio-based environments.
Her background includes extensive involvement in high-end international projects developed as part of multidisciplinary design teams, with experience spanning concept development, spatial planning, bespoke detailing, technical documentation and project coordination.
Alongside interior and spatial work, the studio also collaborates on graphic, visual and creative direction for independent brands, cultural initiatives and live events, often working fluidly across disciplines and adapting to different project scales and contexts.
POI Design approaches each project with a balance of creativity, practicality and attention to detail, with an emphasis on thoughtful, well-resolved work that is both visually engaging and technically considered. The studio values collaboration, adaptability and a hands-on approach throughout the design process, supporting projects from early ideas through to development and delivery.
